COLUMBIA, S.C. — The parade of pledges continues in the high school ranks as three Midlands players made their college choices official and all three players were still wearing their high school colors in week 15.
Dutch Fork edge rusher Terrance Wells committed to The Citadel. A three-time state champion with the Kelly Green, Wells was an All-State selection for the Silver Foxes and he was on the winning South team in the 76th annual Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl in December.
Camden offensive lineman Carter Rimpf is the next player from that program to commit to Todd Knight at the Newberry College Wolves. The son of Camden head coach Brian Rimpf, Carter was an All-State selection and like Wells, he was on the winning South team in the annual North-South All-Star Game. RImpf helped create space for the Camden running game as the Bulldogs finished second in the state in Class 3A.
Gray Collegiate Academy wide receiver Jamarious Lockett will join Rimpf at Newberry. This past season, Lockett recorded 47 receptions for 945 yards and 12 touchdowns as GCA finished runner-up in Class 2A.
