Ridge View wins 4A state championship, A.C. Flora comes up short against Riverside

In the final games at the Florence Center, the 4A state championships were decided and a pair of Midlands teams were vying for the titles.

FLORENCE, S.C. — Ridge View won its first state championship since 2022 with a  58-52 win over Riverside Saturday in the 4A state championship game at the Florence Center.

Korie Corbett led the Blazers with 18 points, with Jayden Pretty adding 15 for a Ridge View team which flexed its muscles back in December by winning the American Division of the Chick-fil-A Classic.

Ridge View finishes the season 27-2 with its only two losses coming to region foes Westwood and A.C. Flora.

But the Blazers regrouped for the postseason and did not stop until after they had secured the program’s fifth state championship.

In the girls 4A state championship, A.C. Flora was making its debut in a state championship game, The Falcons were down four at halftime but Riverside would pull away in thes second half for a 62-32 win over the Falcons.

A.C. Flora finishes the season 23-8.
