Obligatory evacuations issued after gasoline main break in Lexington Region; I-20 detours in place

Law enforcement are asking drivers to prevent Augusta Road/US-1 and I-20, they are closed. LEXINGTON, S i9000. C. — Mandatory evacuations are taking place in an area simply off Interstate 20 close to Lexington after a gas series break. Lexington Police stated late Thursday they are helping with evacuations of companies and homes in the area of Augusta Road/US 1 and I-20. Lexington County Fire Providers is also working to get individuals out of the area. Lexington Law enforcement say a gas series broke in that area past due this afternoon. It’s unclear in which the break happened or even whether it took place in a business or home. That will general area has now getting closed to traffic, together with a six mile stretch associated with I-20 from Exit fifty five to Exit 61. Almost all traffic on I-20 has been detoured through the Town associated with Lexington from Sunset Chaussee and South Lake Generate.
