NEWBERRY, S.C. — Newberry High School did not have to go far for its new head football coach.
Defensive coordinator Cedrick Jeter has been hired to take over the program. He replaces Hall of Famer Phil Strickland who retired at the end of the 2021 season.
Jeter has been on the Newberry staff for seven seasons, the last six as defensive coordinator.
