C. — The dearest founder of Wingard’s Marketplace in Lexington, Marjorie Wingard, has died at 94. She was not only reputed for her business but also for the girl charming character and effect on the Lexington community. Margaret was responsible for starting the very first Girl Scout troop within Lexington in 1958. The lady also became the first woman council member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and stepped to the job to be a local youngsters leader. Her daughter Delores Steinhauser said her slogan was “Look around and find out what needs to be done. “”She was the most optimistic individual you ever want to fulfill, always smiling, always searching for the good in people and the great in situations, ” the girl daughter said. “My hubby calls that being Pollyanna ’cause I inherited a bit of it, but I just view it as a happy nature that will she had. ” Delores stated Marjorie exuded that and this rubbed off on the individuals around her. “She furthermore looked out for other people, inch Delores said. “She continually wanted to make sure people were comfy, that they were happy, they were included. “Delores declared that one time, her mother asked a woman whose car experienced broken down to stay with them till she got it fixed. Margaret won the Silver Crescent Award from Governor Nikki Haley – an honour bestowed only on people who exhibit exemplary community accomplishments and contributions. But during her passing, Marjorie’s effect remains – not only within the memories of those her amazing advantages touched but also in the name of the girl granddaughter.
