Lexington Police lift ‘shelter within place’ advisory after morning hours apartment shooting

Anyone is in custody as a result of the particular gunfire. No injuries had been reported. LEXINGTON, S. D. — Lexington Police state one person is in custody that they believe is associated with an early morning shooting which usually initially resulted in a “shelter in place” advisory to get apartment residents. The capturing occurred in the parking lots of Summer Cove Apartments upon Railroad Avenue around four a. m. on Weekend. Investigators said a vehicle there was clearly shot multiple times, though, nobody was reportedly hurt. The particular shooting soon led to the particular closure of Railroad Method between South Lake Generate and Swartz Road together with an advisory that inhabitants not leave their houses. However , as of about nine a. m., both the advisory had been lifted and Train Avenue was expected to reopen a short time later. Police have not identified the person who was used into custody but do say that person is considered to be involved in the shooting. The research continues for more witnesses from the overnight disturbance. No purpose has been suggested for the gunfire at this point in the investigation.
