COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team wants all their fans to celebrate with them as they watch the NCAA Tournament Selection Show.
The team has a scheduled a fan event for this Sunday, March 12 at the Colonial Life Arena. The team said the doors to the event will open at 6:45 p.m. , and fans will then have an hour or so to interact with the team before the selection show starts at 8 p.m.
Admission to the event is free with general admission Sections 104-106 of the arena.
Fans can get an autographed poster and t-shirt in the McGuire Club first when they get there and then walk around the concourse to meet with the team. Fans will then go to their seats and watch the show on the videoboard.
Once the team’s bracket and pairing are announced, Head Coach Dawn Staley will speak with the team.
The Gamecocks enter March Madness as the clear-cut No. 1 seed and the only undefeated team left in Division I, men or women. USC (32-0) is seeking their their NCAA title in program history.
As a number one seed, they’ll host the first two games at home at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia. Assuming they get past both those games, they’d next play in either Portland, Oregon or Albany, New York for the next two rounds. (Most likely New York, taking into account that USC is the top seed and it’s geographically closer).
The women’s Final Four takes place in Cleveland, Ohio with the semifinal on April 5 and the championship game on April 7.
Ticket booklets for the NCAA Tournament first and second round games played at Colonial Life Arena are on sale now to the general public at: https://am.ticketmaster.com/gamecocks/virtual-venue/V0IyNEFTQg==. Single-session tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Mon., Mar. 18, via Ticketmaster.com.
