CAMDEN, S.C. — For the third time in the last five seasons, Camden will be playing for the 3A state championship and Grayson White will be starting his second at quarterback.
A former defensive end who still dabbles on that side of the ball, Grayson made his last defensive start at linebacker during his sophomore season but during that 2021 year, he was asked to run the offense and he has never looked back.
If Camden can defeat Daniel Saturday night, it will not only be that program’s first state title since 2001 but it will give Grayson his 29th victory as a starting quarterback and that would be a record. He is currently tied with Eric McCollum with 28 career wins.
With a 3.7 grade point average in the classroom, Grayson plans on majoring in business or marketing when he gets to college where he hopes to continue his playing career. As far as the position he will play in college, it will likely be on defense but as he has shown the last three seasons, he is more than willing to play any position if duty calls.
