COLUMBIA, S.C. — Monte Lee is back in a familiar role for the Winthrop game.
South Carolina head baseball coach Mark Kingston is not with the team in Rock Hill because of a one-game suspension stemming from his second ejection of the season which came in Sunday’s win over Auburn.
So it will be the associate head coach who will be managing the dugout for the game in Rock Hill.
The Lugoff-Elgin graduate spent the previous 14 seasons as a head coach, seven at the College of Charleston and seven at Clemson.
After being let go by the Tigers nearly a full year ago, the former Gamecock assistant under Ray Tanner returned to Columbia to work under Kingston.
