Front desk staff member was sick. Coughing, sneezing, hoarse voice but was not wearing a mask. She was on the phone the majority of the time and at one point had a difficult time explaining something to the person on the phone. When she hung up, she expressed to everyone within ear shot, including other patients, how she explained things over and over again and was frustrated by her experience or should I say job. Other patients chimed in and she replied to them. This practice was completely unprofessional. Upon seeing the dentist, she never introduced herself just walked in and made a few comments and left. I was left wondering who I had talked to and why I would trust her with my son's care. The open bay floor plan left us open to be looked at by everyone who walked by and the entire health history of the patient next to us was discussed and overheard by anyone in the area. Apparently that dentist took care of that patient some 20 years ago....

I really liked my visit here, I came for an x-ray and cleaning. The dental hygienist that took care of me for most of my visit was polite and direct. If people think she's rude it's likely because of her monotonous voice, she's polite though. The front desk lady was nice and willing to answer any questions I had. The whole visit was about 47 minutes long, including filling out the paperwork. They're fast and efficient, my teeth feel much cleaner than they did when I came in.

This is the ABSOLUTE WORST dentist office and staff I have ever encountered, and overall the most incompetent healthcare atmosphere I have ever experienced. I am a college student looking for a new dentist in Columbia and was entirely misled by most of these positive reviews. Due the extremely decrepit and unsanitary building, I was a little wary of the quality of service but needed a cleaning so I waited the full hour that they left me in the waiting room hoping the staff would make up for the nasty atmosphere. Needless to say I was greatly disappointed. First of all, I called prior to my appointment and told them I just needed a cleaning- they scheduled me for a full x-ray and new patient intake. After 20-30 minutes of the hygienist fumbling around with the x-ray machine and continuously failing to position me properly to take a simple x-ray, they told me that I would have to pay out of pocket for a cleaning (the sole reason I came) because my insurance wouldn’t cover it. Every other dentist (I would have scheduled with if only any of them had sooner openings) I called checked my insurance over the phone said that I could get 3 cleanings at any times during the year covered in my plan. This office took 20 MINUTES just to figure out that my insurance wouldn’t cover a cleaning. I ended up wasting 2 full hours of my day just to get a couple x-rays I didn’t need and told I’d have to pay out of pocket for the one service that every other office said was covered by insurance. Clearly, this office was the only one available for immediate appointments for a reason, because they are entirely incompetent and unqualified. Honestly, I’m glad they didn’t take my insurance because by the time I left I was scared of what might have happened to my teeth if I let them touch them. Never have I ever felt so scared that staff in a healthcare setting might actually harm my health because they seemed so inept and purely untrained to perform medical procedures.

I don’t leave reviews lightly, but this was a terrible experience. I’m a college student and I got my wisdom teeth out about a month ago here. My initial meeting was good, and when the day came for extraction, my boyfriend was given a sheet of very unclear aftercare instructions while I wasn’t really told anything. I did everything the sheet told me to and, of course, I got a dry socket. While that’s probably no one’s fault and something that can just happen, I went back undiagnosed twice with excruciating mouth pain. The first time- “it’s normal.” The second time, “it’s not a dry socket.” I asked why it hurt so bad- “here’s some opioids.” Needless to say I went elsewhere, and what do you know! A dry socket! I could’ve been saved days of the worst pain imaginable if someone could just diagnose me. Don’t go here.

This is the best dentist office in Columbia. The great part is because they are established and have been in business for many many years so their are thoroughly experienced and their prices are reasonable. Because they are experienced any job is easy to them along with the fact that they truly care about your dental health. They make you feel comfortable and numb you as much as you want to be numbed for any procedure. Don't hesitate to make an appointment. You won't be disappointed.
