Very pleasant experience from start to finish. Receptionist welcomed me with a smile. The only down side was having to complete lots of paperwork and the Dentist could have a more personal touch, by spending a little more time with the patient. I understand their schedules are very busy but it wouldn’t hurt to spend an extra 5 mins getting to know new patients. The hygienist was exceptional. Very friendly and professional. Made sure I was comfortable. Service was really good.

I was extremely happy with my experience at Family Dental Care of Spring Valley! I am new to Columbia, and this was my first visit. I went in thinking that I had a cavity and thanks to the hygienist and the dentist, they discovered it was a bite issue. They went above and beyond to determine what my issue was, and didn't just perform unnecessary dental work. I have found my dental care in Columbia!

Everyone was amazing. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. Every step of the way was great. My dad spoke highly about this office and wanted me to go there so I did. I'm glad I made an appointment, because it was a great experience. Will definitely recommend 10 out 10

Dr Thorp provides excellent patient care. She informed me about all concerns and was open and honest when having to refer me elsewhere to ensure best care and ethical practices. All staff members were also polite and professional throughout my visit. If you’re looking for a good dentist I highly recommend you try them out.

My family has been loyal customers of this clinic for many years. However, we have recently experienced a significant change in how they handle hygienist scheduling. In the past, the clinic honored preferences for the hygienist you scheduled with, but this is no longer the case.
We were not notified of a change in hygienist until arriving for appointment. While I completely understand that unexpected situations such as illness or emergencies can arise, I believe it’s reasonable to expect the clinic to notify customers in advance and confirm if the change is acceptable—especially for long-time customers.
When I voiced my concern, the scheduling staff mentioned this practice is common across the board. However, I don’t believe it’s a wise way to treat customers who value consistency and personalized care! A little proactive communication would go a long way in maintaining trust and customer satisfaction.
