MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The state’s highest individual honor was handed out Saturday afternoon during the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
Dillon offensive tackle Josiah Thompson, a South Carolina commit, was named Mr. Football.
The other finalists for the award included Zion Dobson from Hampton County, Avery McFadden from Hillcrest, Turbo Richard from Northwestern and Watson Young from Daniel.
The 5-star prospect and the state’s top prospect will be in Spartanburg where he will be preparing for the upcoming Shrine Bowl.
