DALLAS — Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott confirmed Monday the birth of his first child.
The child, a girl named MJ, was born last Thursday, which was Leap Day, Prescott told media. Prescott spoke at a Children’s Cancer Fund gala on Monday, a Dallas-based nonprofit that invests in research and care of cancer in North Texas.
“Being a new father, being up here today hit different,” Prescott told media.
Prescott said he feels different since MJ was born.
“You wake up in the morning, you see that baby and understand the responsibilities,” he said. “Everything I’ve always wanted for myself, but to want that for someone else even more.”
Prescott said MJ and her mother are both healthy at home. He also said he changed MJ’s first diaper, and a few more after that.
MJ was born during the Cowboys’ off-season, which Prescott has said has been quiet so far, and that he’s thankful for that.
Prescott and his girlfriend, Sarah Jane Ramos, announced the pregnancy four months ago in a post on Instagram.
“Our immeasurable blessing. I cannot wait to raise a strong, confident, beautiful baby girl with you @_4dak,” Ramos posted to her Instagram page at the time.
