Columbia hip-hop artist Markos Hurtt is switching his audio to pursue his fantastic dreams — becoming a Billboard Top 40 artist. The particular University of South Carolina graduate student, who goes by the phase name KOS, last launched the hip-hop centric “Yall Know KOS” in 2020. But with his upcoming project “Seasons, Phrases, and Almost everything in Between, ” the launched singles show Hurtt testing in his sound. Hurtt have been a visible name in the local songs scene before that 2020 record. Recently, he’s placed on events like Soda Town Pop and The WECO Hip-Hop Chronicles at New Brookland Tavern in 2021. Just before that he was putting on displays as a college student, often showcasing local rappers and hip-hop artists. “I think ‘Yall Know KOS’ was a good album that was figuring out a method to introduce myself — individuals knew me as a marketer and less as an musician, ” Hurtt said. “I wasn’t really as centered on harnessing the Billboard audio as I was just placing out music that I loved. “While each song around the 18-track album contains one or more hip-hop verse, Hurtt used the rap and hip-hop verses to other genres such as country, alternative rock plus R& B. “With ‘Seasons, Phases, and Everything between, ‘ I’m taking the noises I like and experiences We’ve had and incorporating these to a level that hopefully models me up for a record offer, ” Hurtt said. He posited it gives the album an amazing array in its sound. “As We approached a compilation associated with eight or nine music, I realized there had not been a real definitive audio to what I had — just the opposite, actually, ” Hurtt mentioned. “So, I decided to operate with ‘diversity’ as the procedure continued — diversity with all the instrumentals, topics and with the words, but with each one, I had that will ‘Billboard/Top40’ goal in the back of the mind. “
