The average temperature at Columbia Metropolitan Airport for
February 2022 was 52.8 degrees or 3.7 degrees above the monthly
normal of 49.1 degrees.
.Augusta GA Average Temperatures…
The average temperature at Augusta Regional Bush Field for February
2022 was 53.7 degrees or 2.9 degrees above the monthly normal of
50.8 degrees.
.Columbia Rainfall…
Columbia Metro Airport received 1.88 inches of rainfall during
February, 1.51 inches below the monthly normal of 3.39 inches.
.Augusta Rainfall…
Augusta Bush Field received 1.63 inches of rainfall during February,
2.04 inches below the normal monthly value of 3.67 inches.

17th – A record high temperature of 83 was set at AUGUSTA REGIONAL
BUSH FIELD GA. This breaks the old record of 82 set in 1883.
23rd – A record high temperature of 84 was set at AUGUSTA REGIONAL
BUSH FIELD GA. This breaks the old record of 82 set in 2012.
24th – A record high temperature of 88 was set at AUGUSTA REGIONAL
BUSH FIELD GA. This breaks the old record of 84 degrees set in 2017.
This also ties the all-time February record of 88 degrees set on
February 28, 2021.
Columbia…
24th – A record high temperature of 85 was set at COLUMBIA METRO
AIRPORT SC. This breaks the old record of 83 set in 2018.

The outlook calls for about a 40 to 50 percent chance of above
normal temperatures with equal chance of above, below or normal
precipitation.
ENSO (EL NINO SOUTHERN OSCILLATION)…
…La Nina Advisory…
La Nina is present. The equatorial sea surface temperatures are
below average across the east-central and eastern Pacific Ocean. La
Nina is likely to continue into the Northern Hemisphere spring (~77
percent chance during March to May 2022) and then transition to Enso-
Neutral (~56 percent chance during May to July 2022).
