Clemson quarterback, Midlands product enters the NCAA Transfer Portal

After three years in the Upstate, Hunter Helms is leaving Clemson and will finish up his collegiate career at another school. He has two years of eligibility left.

CLEMSON, S.C. — Former Gray Collegiate Academy quarterback Hunter Helms announced Tuesday on social media he is entering the NCAA transfer portal after three seasons in the Clemson program.

After turning down full rides from several school including South Florida, Helms joined the Tiger program as a walk-on before being placed on scholarship.

He appeared in nine games in this three seasons, completed 23 passes for 218 yards with two touchdowns.

Helms earned his undergraduate degree in construction science and management in May and is currently pursuing his Masters of Business Administration. He will complete his MBA requirements at his new school where he will have two years of eligibility.
