CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson Tigers (8-4, 4-4) know where they are headed for the postseason.
They will face the University of Kentucky Wildcats (7-5, 3-5) in Jacksonville for the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl. This will be Clemson’s 10th appearance in the Gator Bowl. A win would even the team’s victories to 5-5 in the game. It will also be a somewhat familiar matchup for both teams, which have met 13 times before over roughly 100 years.
Despite having five losses in six games, Kentucky upset No. 16 Louisville on their home turf and captured their fifth consecutive Governor’s Cup to close out the regular season.
Kentucky has made it to its eighth consecutive bowl game, a school record.
The TaxSlayer Gator will air on ESPN at noon.
