COLUMBIA, S.C. — Chennis Berry has guided Benedict College to two consecutive seasons of undefeated regular seasons followed by dominating wins in the SIAC Championship.
His philosophy of going 1-0 each week takes on even greater importance this week as the Tigers host Lenoir-Rhyne in the second round of the D2 playoffs.
The Tigers earned a first round bye for the second straight year but after falling to Wingate in 2022, they will look to avoid another second-round setback at the hands of a team from the South Atlantic Conference.
Benedict (11-0) is ranked fourth by the American Football Coaches Association and sixth in the D2.com poll.
Lenoir Rhyne (11-1) is ranked sixth in both polls.
