COLUMBIA, S.C. — For the first time since 2018, Cardinal Newman wrestling has reached the top of the SCISA ranks.
The Cardinals defeated John Paul II from Ridgeland 67-10 Saturday in the SCISA Duals Wrestling State Championship at Hammond School.
Cardinal Newman jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back as it secured the program’s 10th state championship in wrestling.
John Paul II Catholic School from Jasper County was making its state championship debut.
