COLUMBIA, S.C. — Collin Murray-Boyles did not have to wait long to experience his first Selection Sunday.
The former A.C. Flora standout who finished his prep career at Wasatch Academy in Utah joined his Gamecock teammates at Home Team BBQ on Sunday for the CBS Selection Show. But it is not as if the freshman has enjoyed an adversity-free season.
Murray-Boyles suffered from mononucleosis in the fall and that kept him out for the first seven games. It wasn’t until mid-January when he worked his way into the starting lineup and he has played a big reason in the Gamecocks’ move into the national rankings and their first NCAA Tournament appearance in seven years.
CMB is currently third on the team in scoring (10.8 ppg) and he leads the team with an average of 5.8 rebounds per game.
