COLUMBIA, S.C. — Tim Moore scored a game-high 29 points and Gob Gabriel hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 19 seconds left as Benedict College defeated Albany State 87-84.
Benedict improved to 14-2 overall and 8-2 in the SIAC. The Tigers had started out the year 13-0 but dropped their last two contests.
Brandon Biedelman scored 13 and W.J. Keenan graduate Asanti Price added 12 with Gabriel providing 11. After his 3-pointer, the Tigers made a defensive stop and sealed the game with free throws.
Benedict will host Allen University next Saturday in a doubleheader with the women tipping off at 1:00 p.m. followed by the men with a scheduled 3:00 p.m. start time at the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
