COLUMBIA, S.C. — Westwood senior guard Jessica Woods was named the Richland County Women’s Basketball Player of the Year, an award presented by the Richland County Recreation Commission. It takes into account athletic and academic excellence along with community involvement, character and intellect.
Not only does Jessica receive a $2,000 scholarship, but she has a trophy for her to keep and a plaque which will be on display at Westwood High School.
Woods averaged more than 12 points per game for the Redhawks who finished runner-up in Class AAAA. She has signed to play basketball at Campbell University.
