Lexington Sheriff’s Department searching for gunmanLEXINGTON COUNTY, S. C. — The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is asking the general public for help in locating the suspect in a shooting occurrence that left one person hurt Thursday afternoon. According to reports, a person was shot shortly prior to noon near Lawson Street in Batesburg-Leesville. The man continues to be taken to an area hospital. Deputies have not yet said that these people believe led up to the capturing. Lexington County Sheriff’s Section Spokesman Capt. Adam Myrick said this shooting is certainly unrelated to any Pelion college. Schools in the area were placed on lockout as a precaution yet there is no ongoing incident or even response at a Pelion college. This is an ongoing investigation.
