Researchers say a pickup truck entered the center line and strike a tractor-trailer. LEXINGTON REGION, S. C. — The particular Lexington County coroner provides identified a man killed within a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer that also seriously hurt another on Friday close to Lake Murray. According to Learn Trooper David Jones using the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the particular crash happened around eleven: 10 a. m. in the intersection of U. S i9000. Highway 378 and River Village Drive – the Leesville address about almost eight miles north of city. Based on the preliminary investigation, specialists said a 1989 Peterbilt tractor-trailer was heading western on U. S. 378 when a 2001 Ford Ranger crossed the center line plus hit the tractor-trailer head-on. The driver of the Ford has been taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A passenger within the Ford, later identified as 64-year-old Bobby Joe Price of Leesville, was also taken to the hospital yet died. The coroner’s workplace said he wasn’t within a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The driver of the Peterbilt had not been injured. Investigators are still trying to piece together exactly what caused the particular crash.
