19-year-old killed in crash close to Lexington identified

Specialists said the single automobile crash involved a truck impressive a power pole. LEXINGTON REGION, S. C. — Regulators say a teen is deceased and another person has been hospitalized following a crash in Lexington County late Thursday evening. Lance Corporal Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the accident occurred around 9: 45 g. m. in the area of Old Cherokee and Wise Ferry highways just west of Lexington. Pye said a 1998 GMC pickup truck was going west on Old Cherokee Road when it left the street to the left and struck an electrical pole and overturned. The passenger, identified as 19-year-old Brier Murray Hudson from Pelion, died in the crash as well as the driver was taken to a place hospital with unspecified accidental injuries. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is handling the analysis of the crash.
